Kensington Chelsea Art Week kapsamında The Bomb Factory Foundation ile birlikte 14 Eylül akşamı LIFE WITHOUT BUILDINGS grup sergisi Kensington Arcade’de Jack Laver, George Kachaamy, Peter Morris ve Dominika Karc ile açıldı. 29 Eylül'e kadar devam edecek sergi farklı disiplinleri yüksek bir uyumla farklı bir alanda biraraya getirmiş. Ressam, mimar, ve güncel heykellerle yerleştirmelerin biraraya geldiği bu sergi Kensington High Street istasyonunun üst katında kiraya açılmış 4300 metrekarelik alanın bu sergi için iki haftalık sanat vakfına sunulması karşılığı gerçekleşiyor.
The Bomb Factory farklı disiplinlerdeki sanatçılara karşılayabilecekleri studyo alanlarını şehrin önemli merkezlerinde sunarak ve onlara çalışmalarını sergileyebilecekleri alanları vererek önemli projelere imza atan bir sanat vakfı olarak; birçok genç sanatçının birarada çalışabilmesine olanak sağlıyor. Jack Laver bu sanatçılardan birisi olarak bulunduğu ortamda birçok sanatçıyla birarada çalışabilme fırsatı olmasından memnun kalarak cam üzerine yaptığı özel teknik çalışmalarıyla bu grup sergisinde yer almış. Kendisine tahsis edilen büyük alanda yerleştirmeleri büyülü bir labirentin içinde izleyiciyi dolaştırıyor. Hatta sergi alanını yangın merdivenine kadar taşıyan sanatçı karanlığın içinde yarattığı ışık oyunlarıyla heykellerine bir farklı ses veriyor. Bu şekilde de sanatçı tekniğini genişleterek, duvara asarak bir resim, alan içinde yerleştirerek bir yerleştirme ve hatta yere yangın çıkışında koyarak bir heykel haline getiriyor.
Kensington Chelsea Art Week senenin başında yaptığı açık çağrısında bu sergiye uygun sanatçıları biraraya getirmiş, The Bomb Factory Foundation’ın Chelsea Studio’sundaki sanatçısı Jack Laver’a da yer vererek bu vakıf hakkında da toplumu bilinçlendiriyor. Peter Morris ise açık çağrıya katılarak seçilmiş. Holland Park’ta önceden sergilediği mimari eserinin maketini yerleştirmeye dönüştürerek çocuklar için oyun evi olarak sunduğu büyük eserini sergi alanına taşımış ve printleriyle bu projede yer almış. Peter Morris Architects, The Cloud House ismini verdiği bulut şeklindeki çocukların oynamasına izin veren pembe renkli evini daha önceden modern bir binanın dış cephesini çerçevelemek için kullandığı metal structuredan esinlenerek sadeleştirip küçülterek pembe halini Holland Park’da çocuk evi olarak geçtiğimiz sene sergilemiş. Aynı eseri ise bu sene bu sergi alanında bir sanatsal projede kullanarak plastik sanat projesinde ilk kez yer almış.
Dominica Karc ise resimleri ile aynı sergi alanında Peter Morris’in printleri ve yerleştirmesi ile yer alarak farklı bir dialog oluşturuyor. Kendisinin eserleri de geometrik şekillere ve çizgilere ağırlık verdiğinden mimari eserlerle önemli bir uyum sağlıyor. Dominika Karc ise Polonyalı bir sanatçı olarak kız kardeşleri ve ailesi ile arasında kalan mesafeleri, ikilemleri, iyi ve kötü gün diye değerlendirdiği yakın ve uzak alanları çizgileriyle ifade ettiği resimleriyle Peter Morris’in verdiği duygu ile bir tezzat oluşturuyor. Belkide çocukların oyun alanlarının bulutlara benzer kıvrımları ile Karc’ın eserlerindeki derinlik veren keskin çizgiler bu tezzatlığı renklerin geçişleri ile uyumlu bir geçişe dönüştürüyor.
Bir diğer odada ise sanatın bir diğer önemli faktörü olan ışığın Jack Laver’ın eserlerinde oynadığı önemli faktörü görüyoruz. Eski binalardan toplanmış olduğunu hissettiren telli camların üzerine karışık teknikle kağıt baskı uygularak farklı sınırlar çizen sanatçı bu serginin asıl temasını çok başarılı olarak eserlerini karışık teknik resimleriyle birlikte yerleştirerek sunmuş. KCAWin yaratmaya çalıştığı binaların olmadığı bir yaşamın ütopyasını bir mimardan, ressamdan ve yerleştirme sanatçısından farklı tekniğinin bıraktığı izlerin kalıntılarıyla izleyenleri etkisi altında bıraktı.
Sanatın sınır ve yer tanımaz halini vurgulayan farklı disiplinlerde çalışan sanatçılar, bir başka bağımsız sergide daha Kensington Chelsea Art Week KCAW kapsamında, yer alırken düşüncelerini özgürce vurguladı. Bazen sanatçıyı özgür bırakan kurumların, bağımsız kalmalarına izin vererek, ifadelerini daha güçlü gösterebilmelerine vesile olurken, yeni fırsatların mümkün olduğunu, bir kez daha düşünmemizi sağlıyor.

Kensington Chelsea Art Week together with The Bomb Factory Foundation opened its group exhibition LIFE WITHOUT BUILDINGS with Jack Laver, George Kachaamy, Petter Morris and Dominika Karc at Kensington Arcade. The exhibition will continue to exhibit different diciplines in a great unity at a different space until 29th of September. Sculptors, fine art paintings, architectural prints, and great installations are coming together in a grand 4400 sq feet space above Kensington High Street train station by the support of government handing out these amazing spaces for let to art foundations for two weeks exhibition to support their unique projects.
The Bomb Factory Foundation is giving affordable studio spaces in different centers of London to artists working in different diciplines and also supporting them by making them opportunities to exhibit their work in different spaces in London. Jack Laver is one of these artists, who is working in The Bomb Factory’s Chelsea art studios, glad to find a chance to work closely with other artists, and exhibiting his mix media paints on glass in this group exhibition colobrated with KCAW to a different crowd. In this large space given to Jack Laver, he has installed his glass print works like a magical labyrinth letting the viewers walk around every each piece. Exquisitely the artist even extended his exhibition space to dark area of fire escape stairs so that he had a chance to place light behind his glass pieces to give a different voice to his sculptures. In this sense, artist is extending the techniques of artistic pieces by making a painting by hanging on the wall, installation by placing them freely in the space, or a sculpture by placing it on floor with light behind them.
Kensington Chelsea Art Week had an open call in the beginning of the year and put together chosen artists for this exhibition, and by giving space to The Bomb Factory’s Chelsea artist Jack Laver, letting the society hear more about this art foundation. Peter Morris has been chosen as an architect applying to this call. He has been part of this exhibition with his prints and an installation which has been exhibited in Holland Park last year. Peter Morris Architects, presented The Cloud House project which was the outer layer of an apartment they did for a modern house in London. They were inspired by using only the outer layer of their modern structure, shrinking it to a smaller structure in pink with a different material, and creating a pink play house for children and exhibited in Holland Park last year. This year presenting the play house to this exhibition space had the chance to present in a fine art projets.
Dominica Karc is exhibiting her fine art paintings in the same place with Peter Morris Architects prints and instalation and creating a different dialog in this grand space. Her art pieces are using geometric shapes and straigths lines that plays a great unity with Peter Morris Architects prints. As a London based Polish artist Dominica Karc is creating distances and spaces with the use of her lines in order to present the dilemma of her good and bad days, closeness and farness to her family and sisters, and her sense of change in a foreign country as an artist. She is presenting a different kind of emotion to Petter Morris’s work but also with the use of color and lines merging two opposing ideas in unity in the same space. Maybe the pink cloudy shapes of lines in Peter Morris’s work and the sharp straight lines in Karc’s space is presenting us how colors may present us two opposing senses in a blending harmony of color.
In the different room,we are facing how light as an important factor in art is presenting itself in Jack Laver’s work. The artist has places the theme of the exhibition in a very strong sense by gathering old wired glass and using ink, acrylic, inkjet print and rice paper to create different borders on them. Also by installing glass works with his organic mixmedia on canvas paintings creating a living space without borders. KCAW has presented an utopia of living without buildings with presenting us to artists using different techniques that are extending borders of lines.
Art as a being without borders and place is very well emphasized again by artists working with different techniques and diciplines in this independent exhibition. Sometimes, it is good to remember how much freedom can art give to artists and its presenters by giving them opportunities to showcase itself in independent free spaces. It also reminds us that different possibilities are always possible in the present artworld.
